The iBot is a smart mobility scooter that was designed and developed in Sweden to assist those with challenges walking, standing, or taking longer walks. It is convenient and intuitive, and can be automatically folded and unfolded in less than 5 seconds. The iBot is powered by dual Bafang 200W motors and bi-directional front wheels, known as omni wheels, which allow for a turning radius of less than 80cm and the ability to navigate rough terrain. The battery is removable for air travel, subject to airline regulations, and has a range of up to 35 km and a top speed of 8 km/h. The joystick has been enlarged and the scooter has a novice-mode function and voice prompts for ease of use by the elderly. The iBot also features a LED backlight for clear night visibility and a white ambient light that turns red while braking for added safety. It has an SOS remote rescue system in case of an accident and can be driven over various obstacles with its 10" omni wheels. The iBot is designed to stop when the joystick is released, regardless of the terrain, and does not require additional brake operation.
